Icons
Have you got this right?
Which stylish icons do you admire most and does admiring or endeavouring to emulate these icons work in your favour stylewise? If you try to follow the celebrities, you will often get a disjointed look to your style, as it is unlikely that celebrity clothes will be suited to your day to day style.
I find it amazing that the best style inspiration comes from people on the street. Dublin is so much more stylish these days and as I sip a coffee, I notice wonderful stylish touches suitable for our city, our climate and our day to day lives.
Websites are full of inspiration. I find it amazing that I can watch fashion shows of all the designer brands on line and even the high street stores make a big effort with their websites and style inspiration too. I just love, when I travel, to watch how the continentals do it. Whether in Paris, Rome or Barcelona – the ladies, whatever their age seem to have a style edge - if we learn to watch carefully, noticing the details, we can bring this home and integrate it in our own style, whether it’s a low slung belt, or a shoulder bag that’s slouchy, the look of their sunglasses or the way their hair has that edgy cut..... Begin to open your eyes to the real style icons and notice the difference.
